Based out of Iowa State University, Flyway: Journal of Writing and Environment publishes poetry, fiction, and nonfiction exploring the many complicated facets of the word environment – at once rural, urban, and suburban – and its social and political implications.

We do accept online and simultaneous submissions, but we ask that if you have a piece accepted elsewhere that you let us know immediately. We are not interested in seeing previously published work and any novel/memoir/etc. excerpts must stand alone. We are interested in seeing work that crosses genres; however, please be aware that we have a limited ability (read: small, but existent) to publish multimedia work at this time. Unlike many literary journals, we will consider novellas, but we ask that you query first.
